Abstract :

Regional art such as Vijayanagara, Bijapur, Hyderabad, Thanjavurand Mysore are recognised in Indian traditional paintings with Mughals, Rajasthani and Pahadi painting. Surapura painting is one of such regional arts.The art found its own independent style due to its unique structure, technique and regional features. Under the auspicious of the kings of the surapuradynasty ,theSurapura painting which grew up with the name of the state is now known in the world.
