Abstract :

At independence, India inherited a weak industrial base, underdeveloped infrastructure, and a stagnant economy. To provide cooperation in industrial development, the government gave some tax exemptions to the industries in the budget of 1948-49 and the Constituent Assembly decided to establish Industrial Finance Corporation.
