The study traces the evolution of political consciousness and nationalist fervour among the Indian populace, catalyzed by Westernization and the efforts of Christian missionaries. The study examines the formation of key political associations and their role in voicing grievances to the British Government, ultimately contributing to the emergence of the Madras Mahajana Sabha in 1884
