During this period, Guru Nanak called to question the existing concepts about God, heaven/hell, reincarnation/transmigration, idol worship, caste system, astrology, mantra systems, etc. in South Asia. Sikhism was emerged as a liberating movement of social equality and spiritual enlightenment.
