EFFECTIVENESS OF KCC SCHEME: A CASE STUDY OF PALAMU DISTRICT IN JHARKHAND

Abstract :

Credit is a strategic input for agriculture production. Kisan Credit Card (KCC) aims at providing timely and adequate credit to the farmers in a cost effective and flexible manner. Kisan Credit Card scheme is a landmark in the history of agricultural credit in India Kisan Credit Card (KCC) in 1998-99, it facilitates farmers in purchasing agriculture inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and also, allow them to withdraw some cash for meeting their other crop production related requirements. The Kisan Credit Card Scheme was a step towards facilitating the access to short-term credit for the borrowers from the formal financial institutions.
