among the various castes population of Narayanpur areas of Lakhimpur district, Assam. The people of those very
communities have been practicing traditional medicine by using different parts of these plants for treatment of
various human ailments. The communities inhabiting in the study areas are Brahmin, Gosai, Kalita, Koch, Kaibarta,
