Volume : II, Issue : I, February - 2012 Development of cognitive beliefs and conceptual understanding of electromagnetism over three years of undergraduate science studentsJ. K. Pendharkar, M N Nyayate and S K Saxena and Yogesh Ghelsasi Published By : Laxmi Book Publication Abstract : The conceptual understanding of fundamental topic lik e electromagnetism in Physics is much
depends upon cognitive developments of students. These cognitive beliefs affect the conceptual
understanding of such fundamental subject. This research is based on surveys made on the learners of First
Y ear , Second Y ear , and Third Y ear , B.Sc. students of K J Somaiya College of science and commerce, Mumbai,
which is centrally , placed 'A' grade College. The learner's characteristics of undergraduate students were
quantified using different techniques. The students were undergraduate students studying basic sciences
having physics as there one of major subject in 10+2+3 pattern in Mumbai University, India Keywords : Article : Cite This Article : J. K.
